The formula for calculating jump rope length is:
Rope Length = (Height × 3) + 6 inches
Consider a person, who is 5’10” (70 inches) tall:
- Multiply his height by 3: 70 × 3 = 210 inches
- Add 6 inches: 210 + 6 = 216 inches
- Convert to feet: 216 ÷ 12 = 18 feet

How Long Should My Jump Rope Be for My Height?
When you stand on the middle of the rope, the handles should reach your armpits or shoulders.
For example, if you’re 5’8″ tall:
- Using the formula: (68 × 3) + 6 = 210 inches or 17.5 feet
- Stand on the middle of a 17.5-foot rope
- The handles should come up to your armpits or shoulders
